FREDDY TAPIA has a degree in Systems and Computer Engineering from the Escuela Politécnica del Ejército - ESPE in Ecuador. He has completed two master's degrees, one at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (Networks and Communications) and another at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Research in ICT's), he also has a higher diploma in Curriculum Design. He holds a PhD in Computer and Telecommunications Engineering from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.

He has a teaching career of more than 20 years, currently provides his professional services in the Department of Computer Science at the University of the Armed Forces - ESPE. Thanks to this trajectory he has collaborated with several universities in Ecuador teaching undergraduate and graduate classes; he has also participated in some research projects either as a director or as a collaborator, likewise he has directed some projects of linkage with society.
